History
I didn’t choose. Live chose me to be here. My desires created the right conditions to fall in Love with the earth. I didn’t expect that a landscape could attract me. It was not only attraction or beauty or the visible form. It was the power within. The energy leads me to the gates to the heart of Mother Earth. I am living on an island, connected to the earth, in the rhythm of the ocean I can hear the earth talking. I hear her song in the winds, the 4 directions. An island is open to the 4 directions and each direction supplies us with a different energy.
Because the Vulcanic action took place here, The geology is unique. The stones, the colors of the earth, and the natural pigments are a result of the past. A huge range of colors and characters. I was inspired and started to paint with earth pigments. It needs a specific technic to stick the pigments on the paper or canvas. I tried different ways but only the natural way of the past satisfied me. I use raisin, egg und Öl. It seems like a step back to the stone age but actually, it is not. It is the opposite. It is the new way to worship and honor the great Mother Earth. It is a way to give thanks. The earth provides everything for the human to live. Food, medicines plants, fabric plants, shelter, wood for fire, so much beauty and joy and life force vitality.
Everything comes from the earth.
I researched ancient techniques of painting with natural pigments, and found myself immersed in a time long gone, when humans were more conscious of their relationship to Earth; an era when we lived in harmony with nature and all beings when everything was perceived as animated, when we called the rain and moved the clouds; a time when we spoke to the landscapes, and viewed all things as sacred.
Through the encounter with the red ochres, my ability to communicate with the earth was reawakened. I found myself fully connected to the dreamtime to the net which connects everything, everywhere through the electromagnetic field of the earth, and realized how much influence we have to create.
My cardinal inspiration is nature: its beauty, laws and wisdom, its cosmic order, the language of patterns, and the energetic relationship between all things. I share my findings, and techniques with you through my art, and in my workshops, and so play my part in re-connecting humanity with the living Earth.
Alone we can walk our path and find purpose; but only by coming together, holding hands in mutual support, we will find the power to change the world.
With Earth Art we can find together, connect, learn from each other, and create a huge field of caring people, who are connected to the earth through Art.
